A fitness program designed for actors and their fans to feed their minds, bodies, and spirits. Join us on the journey.
ACTING FIT
ACTING FIT, an online fitness group of actor friends and their fans, evolved during the corona virus pandemic when Cafe Theatre partners and fitness instructors, Ed Schilter and Jade Greene started teaching fitness on Zoom as The Baby Zoomers! We thought it was a clever reference to Zoom, but everyone seemed to think we were all senior citizens or trying to sell baby clothes! As a result, we shall forever more be known as:
ACTING FIT
Most "acting" onstage and off, requires physical, mental, and spiritual stamina. What better way to achieve that than with fun, hour long classes designed to help you reach your fitness goals while networking with actors and fans of theatre? Class offerings:
SUNDAY 10-11:15 AM Mat Yoga - Pure bliss! Standing, seated, lying down... Stretching, strength building,
balance and breathing work, plus a guided meditation.
MONDAY 10 AM Tai Chi Gong - A melding of the martial art, tai
chi, with the exercise form, qi gong. Flowing
movement, all done standing, makes this class
doable for most.
TUESDAY 10 AM Yoga Lattes - Mat Yoga/Pilates class, focusing
on core (abs and spine) strength and flexibility.
TUESDAY 4:30 PM Holistic Fusion - Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi, Qi Gong... A bit of all holistic forms, adding a
relaxed energy to your day. NOW BY APPOINTMENT ONLY
WEDNESDAY 10 AM Chair Yoga/Qi in a Chair - Doable for all!
Seated and standing work. Stretching, balancing,
breathing, plus a guided meditation.
WEDNESDAY 4:30 PM Sunset Stretch - At the end of a long day, what better way to unwind than with a
full body stretch? NOW BY APPOINTMENT ONLY
THURSDAY 10 AM Fitness Mash-Up - Might be some weight lifting, a vocal warm-up, some vinyasa flow, a
bit of medical qi gong, belly dancing, Alexander Technique, a deep meditation session...
You will never know what to expect!
FRIDAY 10 AM Tai Qi Gong - A melding of the martial art, tai chi, with the exercise form, qi gong.
Flowing movement, all done standing, makes this class doable for most.
